What this is

bigfootballsilk is an independent index of sixteen hotels, sorted into four categories: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. Each entry is a short written description of the property — where it stands, what the building was or is, and what a guest would actually encounter there.

The site is geo-neutral. It is not written from any one country's point of view and does not present itself as a local guide. Properties were chosen because the category is interesting and the building has something specific about it, not because of where the writer happens to live.

How entries are written

Descriptions stick to general, durable characteristics — architecture, setting, format, the facilities a property is known for. Anything that changes week to week, or that would need a citation to state responsibly, is left out.

That means no star ratings, no aggregated scores, no invented guest quotes, and no prices. It also means the text may age: buildings are renovated, operators change, and seasonal properties vary year to year.

What this is not

There is no booking engine here and no affiliate relationship behind any entry. If an entry interests you, the next step is the hotel's own channels.
